They say the best things in life are free. Toshiba AT300SE tablet is not quite free – but it almost is a give-away considering what it offers at the price it is being offered. Excite 10 and 13’s younger cousin, AT300SE, had just been introduced officially to the UK crowd starting at a whooping £299.99 ($475.5), and the price may be expected to drop even lower on the streets.
This new model weights 625 grams – not heavy at all – and is a bit more thickly built than its Excite predecessors. It is targeted to sell to the budget-conscious tech savvies in Britain. Lower cost and thicker frame, however, do not warrant enough to make AT300SE a cast-aside in the tablet market in terms of performance. It does carry quad-core NVDIA Tegra 3 processor with integrated graphics controller, 16GB embedded Multimediacard for storage, and 25.7 cm (10.1-inch) LCD capacitive touch display. It operates on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has 3.0 (back) and 1.2 (front) MPixels cameras, among others. Top that with a sleek precious silver case and a handful of available accessories.
Most likely, it will be introduced later to other areas like America as Excite 10SE. And quite frankly, though more frugal, AT300SE does resemble the other members of its family line, with a considerable edge on its pricing and Jelly Bean feature. Certainly, the spec list and price tag combined show that it is also one qualified taker for the top-notch spot among its contemporaries.
