Stan Lee, real life hero to comic book fans the world over, is publisher and former EIC of Marvel Comics. He’s the genius co-creator behind many Marvel superheroes including The Avengers, X-Men, and Spider-Man.
Fans have come ogling not just for his iconic signature on comic book pages, but also for his brief cameos in the live-action superhero films based on his creations. In the 2007 Comic Con, he got his own Marvel Legends action figure. It’s only a matter of time before Stan Lee is also a video game character.
That time happens to be now. Stan Lee the upcoming playable character will probably swing about the Manhattan skyline looking for lost pages of a script with the powers of Peter Parker’s alter-ego. What we know for sure is that he’ll talk his way through it.
But there’s the catch. Stan Lee the playable character is available only if you pre-order The Amazing Spider-Man in Xbox 360 and PS3 from Amazon; in limited supply, of course. Word is that the Wii and 3DS versions do not have Stan Lee. There are surprises as yet unrevealed, though. After all, Spidey celebrates 50 years of great responsibility this year.
The latest installment in the Spider-Man movie franchise premieres in the US this summer. Expect a new cast, new director, and a sort of reboot of the Tobey Maguire trilogy. The game featuring Stan Lee’s possible release date is June 26th.
