Since Nintendo portable handhelds’ release in 1989, it has been known to sport different looks to attract the attention of game afficionados. The most recent look that Nintendo 3DS XL is now being called a “Pikachu Yellow.” This is to give emphasis on the on the outer covering of the console where you will see the popular Pokemon character’s face, of course that is no less than Pikachu himself.

Although the interior of this 3DS XL version will be in a shade of white, the Nintendo 3DS XL Pickachu version will still carry the system’s standards, only in a different packaging. That means that the Pickachu version will still operate using the same general format of a downloadable cartridge and equipped with accessories and controls like an internal camera, a D-pad, thumb stick for direction control and accelerometer for motion control.

Too bad though because this design will only be available for the Japanese market and may only be purchased if you have secured your reservation before its launch onthe 15th day of September. The pre-order will be formally openned beginning August 25 and will close on the eve of it launch which will be on theSeptember 14. Take note however, that you can only make your reservations at Pokemon Centers nationwide. The said unit will be sold at ¥18,900 or that’s about US$ 238.
