With all the 7-inch tablet mania these days, Barnes and Noble has been rumoured to go into the fray. The company is said to be set to release a new Nook Tablet with its own “revolutionary screen”. The technology seems to have been developed by the company with the support of another undisclosed company. Others say that the company might use the screen developed by Pixel Qi or by Liquavista but no confirmation has been given by the company yet.

The new Nook Tablet is also rumoured to be lighter than the previous tablets and will probably expand its function. Since it is famous for the “reading experience, Barnes and Noble will still give focus on that particular function for their tablet. On the other hand, they would like to also tie-in with other companies like Microsoft and Sony in order to give music and movie options for their new tablets. Some rumours say that the Nook will run on an Android and not Windows 8. Unfortunately, that is the only extent of the rumour. No other details have been given regarding the tablet.
We can all expect the new Nook Tablet to come out by this fall probably late September or October. There is no word yet as to how much you need to pay for one but we can expect that the company will not sell their tablet for far more than the price of the Kindle Fire at $200.
