Just because the Mobile World Congress has ended doesn’t mean leaks about upcoming handsets would stop. And the leaked images of the Huawei Ascend G710 that have been making the rounds of websites are proof of this hypothesis.

The photos show a pretty sleek looking handset with a metal back cover. Rumor has it that the Ascend G710 will be sporting a 5”, 720 x 1280 display screen which is admittedly lower than what most are expecting. It appears that the G710 has capacitive keys at the screen’s bottom, making the screen look bigger than the D2. Reports also peg the G710 to be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor developed by Huawei. There have also been talks that the unit will be running on the Android 4.1.2 and that it will support both CDMA and GSM networks.
Concrete and reliable information about the Ascend G710 are admittedly very thin on the ground, but hopefully details like its features, specs, availability and price will come out soon. Although, reliable sources are quick to point out that the G710 will likely be released only in China and that it will cost less than the Ascend D2, which makes sense since the G710’s screen resolution is not as good as the Ascend D2.
