Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense brought to light their quad-core smartphone at CES, called U958. Hisense is fairly known with their TVs but what you may have failed to know is that this company is also selling smartphones and tablets. The handset that they’ve revealed at CES deserves its share of attention, so let’s check it out.

U958 is a packed with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Play processor giving it a snappy interface. It comes thin at 9.5mm, housed in that slim build is a a 4.5-inch FWVGA with a 854 x 480 resolution. It runs with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 512 of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. As expected with a Chinese brand, U958 is comes with a dual SIM support. It has a 5mp camera and a 1700 mAh batery to power it up.
All these specs are prettys mediocre and will not likely give the phone a spot on the top smartphones list. So that clearly means that this phone is aimed for emerging markets and not likely to compete with high-end phones. As you would with such specs, this phone comes with a budget price. The HiSense U958 has not yet hit the states but is already available in some markets. If you are rooting a cheap Android phone, you could add this as an option.
