Since its inception in 2010, Apple’s iPad series has greatly dominated the tablet market garnering more than 70% of the market. Other producers of this similar gadget like Samsung, Motorola, and Dell only got the mere less than 30% of the market. And Android-based tablets got only 17% of the 30%. This is the present scenario in the world of tablet market.

Now, search engine giant, Google, is planning on co-producing its Android tablet that would rival the Apple iPad. The company wants to improve the sales of portable PCs that utilize the Android software of Google. The plan is to produce tablets that will contain both Google’s brand name and some electronic manufacturers’ trademark. Some of the manufacturers who will be responsible for the hardware part of the project are Asus and Samsung.
Although still unclear about its launch and details, Google intends to feature an online store that would sell these co-branded tablets. But, it is said that it may happen later this year. In addition, with the pending purchase of Motorola Mobility Holdings, Inc., Google is said to produce its own tablets and are expected to be sold via this online store.
In a nutshell, Google is going to co-produce tablets that would be able to compete with the very popular iPad and underwrite the price so that it can also go against the low-budget Amazon Kindle Fire.
