The Durabook R13C is GammaTech’s latest addition to its slate of rugged laptops. This one has been especially created to be convertible. Moreover, it was built to withstand the harshest conditions, which makes the device perfect for working on the field.

Durabook R13C is perfect for homeland security, law enforcement, and military personnel. The device has already received its Military Standard 810G certification because of its readily built spill, shock, and drop protection. Aside from these, the contraption also has protection against thaw, freeze, explosive shrapnel, fog, and salt.
GammaTech gave the device an IP65 rating. This rating ensures that the computer’s enclosed parts have full protection from water and dust. To prove this, GammaTech gave it a water-resistant backlit keyboard and an alloy case that is made of Magnesium. This makes the casing 20 times much stronger as compared to ABS plastic.
GammaTech somehow embodies the gadgets that you can observe from spy movies, especially with additional software such as a Kensington lock, Trusted Platform Module 1.2, and a fingerprint scanner.
Special features include a screen measurement of 13.3” with a 1000 NIT LCD that you can easily read despite bright sunlight. The device is powered by an Intel Core Low Power i7-620LM vPro processor with a RAM of 8GB, has a 2.5” SATA heater-ready hard drive, a SIM card protector, an SD card reader, a super thin super-multi DVD drive.
To date, GammaTech still has closed lips with regards to the device’s price and official release dates. So stay tuned
