Droid XT928 & MT917 RAZR Phones for China: Specs and Release Date This Year?

In case you want to take a vacation in China, you’ll need to choose a phone that can support a local mobile network. You have to consider whether to get a smartphone that can go with TD-SCDMA or have a phone that supports CDMA2000. But what if your phone doesn’t support both of them?

Luckily, Motorola has unveiled its Droid RAZR handsets compatible with Chinese networks. Those who prefer the CDMA 2000 network can opt for the Droid XT928 while the rest can go Moto’s TD-SCDMA-enabled Droid MT917. Both are Droid RAZRs but are being offered in different flavors.

If you’re asking for specs, then let us tell you that the Droid RAZR XT928 will basically sport a 13 mega pixel shooter with a Dolby Digital support. Not much has been revealed about this variant but according to reports it will carry the same specs like its US sibling (so, we should expect 1.5 GHz CPU and 4.3-inch touchscreen display.

The Droid MT917, on the other hand, will sport a rounder looking form. It will be showcasing a 4.5 inch (1280 x 720 resolution) LCD display and the same 13 megapixel camera. The handset is no less than 1mm thick and will weigh around 11 grams.

Availability and price for both models are still undisclosed. In the US, the Droid RAZR can be availed under Verizon for $299 with a 2-year contract. Will it be offered the same in China? Stay tuned.
