Belkin Wemo Home Automation For iPhone Owners Introduced

0

Belkin has a new product that offers to put you in control of your own home using just your iPhone even when you’re out at work.

The Wemo is a device that lets you turn your household appliances on or off with the simple touch on your iPhone screen. Set-up is simple as long as you have WiFi at home. Just plug the module, connect it to your WiFi, and pair it with your iOS 5+ iPhone using the free app. You can switch the lights on or off in your living room even if you’re in the other side of the house. The device is also modular so you can control as much items in your home as you like. You just need to repeat the same setup process for every module.

Belkin boasts that the Wemo can turn an appliance on or off as long as it plugs in. So you can turn on your coffeemaker even before you get out of bed. You can also have your heater turned on thirty minutes before you get home so you won’t have to arrive in a cold house in winter. You can also schedule when certain items can go on or off. Wemo also has an optional motion sensor so you can have lights turn on when you walk into a room, or have hall lights turn on when it gets dark.

You can get the solo Wemo Switch for just $50 apiece while the Switch + Motion sells for $100 per pair.
