Audi (pronounce as “ow-dee”) is basking in the glory of its R8 E-Tron victory. Recently, the company has been the center of many high-profile presses because its electric vehicle set a world-record at Germany’s Nurburgring. During that day, Markus Winkelhock whizzed around the country’s course and finished with a lap time of only 8 minutes and 9.099 seconds. Apparently, the time set was only 5 seconds more than the record time of a gasoline-powered car which also uses an Audi motor.

The company announced that the models which will be released later this year will have the same motor as the one which was tested in Germany which actually features two electric motors. The motors pump out about 280kW of power (accelerating from 0-100 kph in just 4.6 seconds and reaching top speeds of over 150mph) which is quite amazing for an electric motor. Sources said that the model’s limiter will be set to only 155 mph (250 kph).
As for now, Audi has not yet announced the exact release date of the cars. What we do know is that we can expect them by the end of this year. Unfortunately, the price range also has not been announced and so we can just start saving up and hope that we can get the best price for such an amazing product.
